Western New Mexico's women's team won its second straight game and overcame a lackluster first half to send New Mexico Highlands packing 69-57 Tuesday. The Mustangs improve to 5-12 (5-7 RMAC) with the win while Highlands remains with just one win on the season, at 1-18, 1-11.

The Mustangs shot just .355 from the floor in the first half, but improved to .477 in the second stanza to put away the shorter Cowgirls. WNMU turned the ball over 20 times in the game but owned the glass, out rebounding their opponents by a 42-28 margin.

Ashley Vigil continues to impress from her point guard position, scoring 15 points along with Senior Tannesia Manley, who also netted 15 points and eight rebounds for a powerful inside-out punch. Jocelyn Chavez also looked sharp scoring 13 (six rebounds) while Whitney Card added 10 points.

The Lady Stangs will face the last opponent they haven't seen this year when they travel to Gunnison, CO this weekend for a game with Western State.
